Why I'm Running
Meet the Candidate
A Fresh Voice. A Fairer Future.
I am a lifelong Sandusky resident, a small business advocate, and a proud member of a new generation of leadership stepping up to fight for working families across Ohio’s 89th District. I am running for State Representative because I believe the people of Erie, Ottawa, and Huron counties deserve a voice in Columbus who understands where we come from, listens to our communities, and works every day to build a stronger future.
My roots in this community run deep. For generations, my family has been part of the fabric of Sandusky, including operating a local grocery store that served neighbors and helped bring people together. Like many families in our region, my family’s story is one built on hard work, service, and dedication to community. Relatives throughout my family have worked in unions, manufacturing, public service, and local government, dedicating their careers to supporting their neighbors and strengthening the places they call home.
Growing up surrounded by that example taught me the importance of a fair day’s work, the power of collective action, and the responsibility we have to look out for one another. I learned that strong communities are not built by politicians alone. They are built by workers, small business owners, educators, first responders, and families who show up every day and keep our communities moving forward.
While in high school, I balanced academics with working in local restaurants and small businesses, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges facing working people and local employers. I also served as class secretary for three years and was active in student council, experiences that taught me the importance of listening, organizing, and representing the voices of others. Those early leadership opportunities reinforced my belief that public service begins with being present and understanding the people you represent.
At Ohio State University, I studied Political Science with a focus on political leadership and reform while continuing my commitment to public service and community involvement. My experiences working with community organizations, educational initiatives, and local leaders showed me how decisions made in government impact everyday life, from the cost of living and access to opportunity to the strength of our schools and neighborhoods.
Today, I continue to stay connected to the communities that shaped me. I work alongside residents, local businesses, labor organizations, and community advocates to fight for stronger infrastructure, better jobs, affordable housing, strong public schools, and a government that works for everyone, not just those with the loudest voices or deepest pockets.
At a time when many people feel disconnected from their government, I believe Ohio needs leaders who understand the realities facing working families. My campaign is about creating opportunities for the next generation, protecting the communities we call home, and ensuring that every family has the chance to succeed.
I am running for Ohio House District 89 because I believe our best days are still ahead, and together we can build a fairer future for Erie, Ottawa, and Huron counties.
