Erie County Democratic Candidates Join Residents at Annual Berlin Heights Basket Festival Parade

Candidates and volunteers with the Erie County Democratic Party marched through the streets of Berlin Heights today for the annual Basket Festival parade, celebrating one of Erie County’s signature summer traditions.

The parade brought together local residents and campaign teams from across the region. Walking the parade route alongside party members were candidates Paul Meisel and Mindy Kayl, who joined Easton Retzke in the lineup to celebrate the strong community spirit of Erie County.

“Local traditions like the Basket Festival show the true heart of our community,” said Easton Retzke, Democratic candidate for Ohio House District 89. “It was fantastic seeing so many familiar faces along the route, hitting the parade line with our local candidates, and seeing the strong show of support. Events like this are a great reminder of why I am running to represent District 89.”

Residents lined the streets to watch the procession, wave, and cheer on participants as the festival kicked off a full weekend of local events.

As campaign efforts continue throughout Erie County and District 89, Retzke and local candidates will continue showing up at events and community gatherings across the region.
